In Wapping, London, the Turk's Head has a special history. It was kept open all hours during World War II by its eccentric landlady so that service personnel could find out what had happened to their families.
Derelict, it was bought by local residents who set up their own charity for the purpose.
We helped the initial campaign, fundraised the capital costs and managed the renovation. Rents from the café and workspace above finance the charity's activities.
